We finished our semester on botany with a simple flower dissection. This meant that the younger two children pulled petals off and scattered them all over the house while we tried to save some for the actual dissection, lol.

It was very difficult to find the parts, in fact, I think we went through about five or six flowers. If we do this again in the future, InshaALLAH I will get bigger flowers. Of course, the most beautiful of the bunch had worms in it! There were lots of fascinated “Eeeews!” during that part, lol.

Overall, the botany semester was enjoyable. We didn’t try to do too much so I didn’t feel rushed or frustrated. We also managed to cover a lot of ground in art/drawing by incorporating it into our lessons.

Now I have to quickly gather supplies for chemistry and get the reading materials together, InshaALLAH. I’m still not quite sure what we will be doing but it will definitely be inexpensive and hopefully fun too.
