We had an informal exam for geography a couple of weeks ago. I wanted to make sure that the activities we have done were conducive to learning and not just for show….

I put a very rough sketch of the world on the board (lol, really rough) with a few images as hints and then asked my daughter to fill in the blanks. She was very excited (anything to avoid writing – and math!) and AlhamduLILLAH, the activity went very well.  This yer, we covered lots of Asia and a tiny bit of Europe. Now, we must move on to Ancient Africa, InshaALLAH.

I’ve been busy with my own exams (in my Arabic class), so in between memorizing some 30 poems or so, (yikes!), I’m homeschooling and still organizing the blog. I’m getting quite a few emails about our anticipated curriculum for the coming year and I hope to have that finalized soon, InshaALLAH.

What is your outline for the coming year? Are you starting after Eid ul fitr or during Ramadan?
